I’m wondering though, if the white of a boiled egg is exactly the same as a fried one in terms of protein?

I saw your article in Muscle and Fitness on Body Building Foods, and I agree that one of the number 1 body building foods is eggs. I’m wondering though, if the white of a boiled egg is exactly the same as a fried one in terms of protein? — Johnathan Z., Cape Town, MA

Hi Johnathan!

No matter how you egg whites, they are always going to have the same amount of protein (especially with a hard boiled egg because it’s in a shell, so none of it will “escape”).  The danger in frying eggs is that folks can use too much butter or oil and add a ton of calories that way.  If you have a great non-stick pan, you can “fry” them with just a bit of olive oil spray, and they’ll still be insanely good for you.

Hope this helps!
