Do you cut the stems off of cilantro before chopping it?

I saw that one of your tips for creating decadent dishes is using fresh herbs, but I don’t really know where to start? Do you cut the stems off of cilantro before chopping it? – Mary S., Huntersville, NC

Hi Mary,

Great question!  For all herbs, one of my biggest tips is to wash them right when you get them home from the store. Then you can dry them and wrap them in a paper towel and store them in the same bag they came in until you’re ready to use them.  Make sure your herbs are completely dry before chopping them. After that, pluck the leaves off the cilantro so no stems remain and then you can start chopping!

This video shows you how I store herbs and produce when I get back from the store: http://www.americanownews.com/story/15719802/how-to-make-your-fresh-produce-last-longer

Freshest wishes!
